My whole life I've been a procrastinator.
I used to tell myself that I did my best work in a crunch. Once the deadline got real, I became amped up and ready to go.
Read moreWhen "Tully" begins, we see Marlo (Charlize Theron) in the final days of her third pregnancy. She's brushing her son's body. He's a kindergartner with special needs. Often labeled "quirky." He's a lot to handle. She has an 8-year-old daughter. Her husband, Drew (Ron Livingston), is a work-hard, play (video game) hard dad, who appears to not be so involved with all it takes to raise a family.

It's something I've continued through adulthood.
Tonight I walked with the dogs to a friend's house about a mile away on the same street. It was around 11 on our return trip, and I noticed nearly an entire block of houses all had their porch lights off. A couple houses had security lights that kicked on. It was a really dark walk.
Read moreI just drank a Zima for the first time since high school.
While at Reasor's tonight, I stumbled across the display and had to get a six pack.
I mentioned in one of my first blogs that the first time I got drunk, it was when I drank Zimas and Jolly Ranchers. The year was 1998. I was around 17 and working with college girls.
I don't remember the last time I drank one, but it was probably in 1999.
Read moreThe above video is a time-lapse I recorded from the Masa window. It's a good representation of how it feels to work at Bleu Garten on a Saturday. It's hundreds of people coming and going non-stop for 14 hours.
Read moreWelp, we did indeed get our asses kicked.
We just wrapped day 3 at Bleu Garten.
More about this weekend tomorrow.
In the meantime, I need a drink and then some sleep.
t's 8:45 am and I'm at Holey Rollers coffee shop in Oklahoma City's Paseo District. It's a nice little coffee shop. Turns out they share a space with Literati Press, which I've followed on social media for years, but never actually visited.
In one hour, we'll be arriving at Bleu Garten for what we anticipate will be a monstrous day of slinging empanadas, bacon bombs and cuban sandwiches.
Read moreI tend to read a lot of articles online.
Thought I'd share some of my favorites I read this week. (Some of the articles might be more than a week old and I just got to them.)
Here are 51 festivals to attend in northeast Oklahoma this summer according to the Tulsa Voice.
Here are three state parks that will make you forget you're in Oklahoma, according to Tulsa People.
North Carolina high school senior Jasmine E. Harrison was accepted to 113 colleges and has been offered more than $4 million in scholarship money.
Sofia Coppola is one of my favorite directors. Did you know she attended school in Tulsa while her dad filmed "The Outsiders" and "Rumble Fish"? This article is about the Criterion release of her awesome film, "Suicide Girls."
Country singer going more pop singer Kacey Musgraves did a Rolling Stone interview where she talks about doing acid and touring with Harry Styles. Also her new album is one of the best of the year, to date.
Sticking with music, Leon Bridges was profiled by Esquire, where he talks about the difficulties of finding a black audience as a soul singer. The Ft. Worth native just released his much-anticipated second album, "Good Thing."
"Heat" is the best available movie on Netflix, according to Vice. It's one of my top three of all time, so I won't argue that opinion.
Have you posted something you shouldn't have on your Instagram story? These people have and share their stories.
This weekend "Tully" opens at the theater. I really want to see it, but will have to wait a few days. It features Charlize Theron in a role where she gained 50 pounds to play a mom. Mackenzie Davis co-stars. She is one of my favorites and I'll continue to promote her to do my part to make her a household name. The movie reunites writer Diablo Cody and director Jason Reitman, who worked together on "Juno" and "Young Adult." The movie is currently at 89 percent on Rotten Tomatoes (for what that's worth), and Rolling Stone's Peter Travers gave it a glowing review.
So it's day three of this here daily blog, and I'm already stressing a tiny bit.
First off, thank you reader for visiting my site and the blog. That means a lot to me.
When I worked as sports editor at The Daily O'Collegian (aka The O'Colly), I used to tell my staff that as long as they connected with one person with their story, then they had done their job.
If you're reading this on day three, I'm doing my job.
So about that. I promised a daily blog. I'm going to stick with it, but I'm going to predict that unless I stay up all night, the next few days are going to be short and sweet, so hang with me.
What I should have done was scheduled some posts for busy days. What I didn't do was exactly that.
This weekend Masa is headed to Bleu Garten. The last time we were there, we sold out our entire inventory in a day. People in OKC really love Masa.
This time we're going with more food and planning a resupply for Sunday.
Friday evening should be busy, but Saturday will be crazy. I'm talking flip the open sign at 11 am and only leave the trailer a couple times to use the restroom until we sell out or close at 1 am. There's only a couple times in the day I'll be able to sit for a minute or two. They are long days that tend to go by fast. It's an ass kicking. Then we do it again the next day. I will log close to 40 hours in three days.
So yeah, not a lot of time for writing.
I love the commitment of daily posts. Going back to yesterday's post, maybe I am crazy for challenging myself to do something like this.
Here's the deal, I am going to launch my own media site in the coming months. It's going to take a tremendous amount of dedication and discipline. Of course it will feature stories that have been written ahead of time, and I'm not 100 percent certain it will be daily content. But if all goes to plan this one will keep going each day. I plan to incorporate video, definitely more photos and maybe even a podcast or two. Lots and lots of work ahead.
I'm open to ideas for blog posts as well. If there's something you'd like me to tackle, leave it in the comments and I'll add it to the list.
I plan on doing some Q&A's here with some friends, so I can introduce you to some people, who I think are doing tremendous work in Tulsa and elsewhere.
I've kicked around the idea of an AMA (that's Ask Me Anything for non-redditors). Maybe it will happen down the road.
Like I previously mentioned, I'll do some writing on people who have inspired me. I'll also do some music and tv/movie posts. I'll likely keep sports to a minimum. You can expect lots of posts about food and drinks.
OK, that's it for today.
PS: If you live in OKC, stop by this weekend and say hi. You know where to find me.
"Are you crazy?"
"I think he's crazy. Guess what he did?"
"He might be crazy."
I have heard all these in the last two months.
I don't think I'm crazy.
Weird, sure.
